Summertime
With a tutu larger than life that sheds petals of summer, Black mariah performs to another Geirge Gershwin classic, from Porgy and Bess, "Summertime"
Princess Leia
Debuting at All-Con 2011, this routine explores the opression of Slave leia and her refusal to submit. No really it's cerebral only in the song choice, really it's just good fun and I love Star Wars, so it was a natural progression.
Bettie Page Tribute
After many years of considering every aspect of my favorite pinup and muse Bettie Page and which aspect of her I wanted to portray......I decided the best and most recognizable aspects of Bettie to the general public (besides the jungle Bettie pictures) were the Olivia paintings of Bettie. Look for the new video of the "Bettie in a Box" show! Premiering December 2010 at the "Stripping through the Ages" Ruby Revue show at the House of Blues in Houston and Dallas! The first video the most recent video, filmed by stripcheez.com for the Dallas Burlesque festival.
Betty Boop
A tribute to the animated pinup girl, Betty Boop, performed to the song "I want to be loved by you" performed by Helen Kane. Pictures and videos to come soon!
Rhapsody in Blue/ Statue of Liberty
This performance is a tribute to the Statue of Liberty and our freedoms. Black Mariah performs a truely classic tease in an oxidized copper green gown. "Rhapsody in Blue" is a jazz concerto written by George Gershwin as a "musical kaleidoscope of America, of our vast melting pot, of our unduplicated national pep, of our blues, our metropolitan madness." The composition has also been interpreted as a reflection of New York City and its many facets. The song lends itself to the beauty and seduction that is America, and is the perfect selection to perform as the Statue of Liberty.
