March 11th, I took part in my first South by South West (SXSW) experience. I have lived here in Texas for going on now 5 years, and I have not yet experienced SXSW. Until now, I thought it was a festival of unsigned bands where big name signed bands would make secret show appearances and the fans get uber pissed because we weren't in the know to get in to see them. SXSw is so much more than that! SXSW is an industry event covering not just music, but performance, and arts, and graphic arts and movies and anything you can think of that needs networking, you will find it here. 

I made the trek to Austin to participate in one of the coolest shows I have had the privilege in which to perform. Big Bang Bordello claimed an evening of Sultry Texas Stempunk, with vendors and bands and bad ass burlesque. It was a show with many of my favorite performers, so I was definitley in for a treat.  

The Line up included The Jigglewatts, Bat City Bombshells, UK's Crimson Skye, New Zealand's Eva Strangelove,

Angi B Lovely (Dallas), Smalls McCoy of Big Star, Ginger Snaps of Black Widow Burlesque, Fat Bottom Cabaret, Mojo Queen.

White Lightnin' debut

This is a lovely sound assisted interview with the Knoxville News Sentinel's "Picture This" segment. I loved the picture they chose and the interview was a great piece. I hope your ears don't melt from the "Miley Cyrus" accent you will be bombarded with!Oh how times and my view of burlesque has changed. This interview was conducted 1 year after I had begun performing with a group, rather than as a soloist. I have grown so much as a performer since then, and so has the burlesque performance scene!
